Geeking Out at the Football Medicine Strategies Conference

What a bloody brilliant week I had in London. I remember starting this blog while enjoying a warm cup of tea at The Wolseley. I fondly recall staring blankly at my computer and an expensive basket of assorted croissants for a solid 15 minutes. But before I get ahead of myself, let’s backtrack to the very beginning. I was born a cute bundle of joy to a loving mum and dad. One day, a mean old wizard killed my parents in front of me and I became a really popular and powerful witch who saved the world… JK! Sounds like a good book idea though, someone should write it.

The fibula did not catch a good break this week

Goodbye week 10 and hello week 11! There were an average of 3 injuries per game last week. Thankfully, this week was a little friendlier to NFL teams. Week 11 by the numbers:

Injuries from around the NFL

The nerd inside of me thinks about all of the injuries and hours spent at rehab as I sit on my couch watching the Super Bowl rematch on this glorious Sunday (go Seahawks!). Even the commentators of this morning’s game between the Redskins and Eagles recognized that the medical staff for both teams will have their work cut out for them. Combined, he Redskins and Eagles had 10 players go down with injury, of which 4 returned. And that doesn’t include Eagles’ quarterback, Nick Foles (the guy who gets mashed below), who was clearly in distress after getting hit a few times.
